Pre-Operation Checklist
Left Gutter Broom
- Ensure the broom is free of debris, string, wire, or other obstructions.
- Verify that gutter broom spray nozzles are operational and free of debris.
- Check that bristle length is no less than 6 inches.
- Confirm spring adjustment creates a 4-inch strike pattern with new bristles.
- Set broom pattern from 9:00 to 1:00.
- Operate broom at approximately 70–75 RPM.
Right Gutter Broom
- Ensure the broom is free of debris, string, wire, or other obstructions.
- Verify that gutter broom spray nozzles are operational and free of debris.
- Check that bristle length is no less than 6 inches.
- Confirm spring adjustment creates a 4-inch strike pattern with new bristles.
- Set broom pattern from 11:00 to 3:00.
- Operate broom at approximately 70–75 RPM.
Sweeping Head
- Ensure the sweeping head is free of debris and caked-on material.
- Verify that sweeping head spray nozzles are operational and free of debris.
- Check that the sweeping head blast orifice maintains a 3.4-inch gap from left to right.
- Confirm sweeping head spring suspension requires approximately 30 lbs of lift per corner to float the head with the hopper down while the unit is running at operational RPMs.
- Ensure the sweeping head flap extends below the skid plates.
- Verify that the blast hose interior is clean, securely fastened to the sweeping head, and free from holes.
- Verify that the suction hose interior is clean, securely fastened to the sweeping head, and free from holes.
- Confirm the center deflector is properly positioned for full-width sweeping.
Fan & Housing
- Maintain a 1/4-inch clearance between the smallest diameter of the fan inlet scroll and the edge of the back cover plate orifice.
- Ensure fan blades are clean and free from debris.
- Verify that the drive belt is correctly adjusted and not slipping.
- Adjust the LEAF BLEEDER as needed: CLOSED increases air velocity for heavy debris; OPEN decreases air velocity, increasing hopper vacuum for light debris.
Hopper
- Ensure hopper seals fully with the fan inlet seal and suction tube inlet seal when lowered.
- Verify that hopper screens are clean and unobstructed.
- Ensure hopper suction inlet tube is clean and unobstructed.
- Confirm that the dust separator opens and closes freely with hopper movement.
- Verify that inspection door seals are in place and sealing properly.
- Ensure rear hopper seals are in place and seal properly with the door closed.
- Confirm rear door closes securely and forms a proper seal with the hopper.
- Verify that the hand hose door closes and latches securely.
Skid Plate
- Inspect the skid plate to ensure it is not bent or damaged.
- Adjust the skid plate so the blast orifice sits 1.5–2.5 inches above the sweeping surface.
Water System
- Ensure the water tank has sufficient water.
- Verify that all nozzles are clean and operational.
General
- Ensure the unit is clean and free of tools, loose hardware, debris, or other obstructions.
